The Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands gave legal grant last Saturday to the measure proposed by the Governing Council of the Canarian Executive through the Ministry of Health in which the covid certificate would be implemented to enter public and private premises from December 10th.

The measure, which would be voluntary, has been validated for a period of one month to be computed from the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, and in any case, with a maximum validity until January 15th of 2022.

Thus, the Government of the Canary Islands achieves its purpose of shielding for the next 30 days, just on the dates when the Christmas festivities can increase the incidence of covid in the population. In case of wanting to extend the measure, it would be necessary to request a new judicial authorization.

In this way, the and after the approval of the TSJC, the covid certificate and the rest of the sanitary measures will be applied in the capacity, number of people per group and closing times in force at all times for each activity.

These measures will be applied in centres, facilities, activities or buildings for public use, whose managers voluntarily choose to require their workers and users over 12 years and 3 months to have a covid certificate, also voluntary, confirming that they do not suffer from the coronavirus and have been vaccinated against the virus.
