A 56-year-old woman died on Friday after falling in a mountain area in Femés, according to CECOES. The accident took place at around 2:37 p.m. in the area of the southern municipality of Yaiza.
Once the CECOES was alerted, two ambulances were dispatched, one with medical equipment and the other with basic life support from the SUC, the Emergency Consortium, the Civil Guard and the Local Police.
Firefighters reached the victim, who was in a difficult-to-access location, and after confirming that she was in cardiac arrest, they began resuscitation.
Subsequently, the medical staff confirmed that the victim was still in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued to perform basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without obtaining results, confirming her death.
Once the Civil Guard gave its authorization, the body was transferred to Femés, where the Judicial Police were waiting. In addition, the Civil Guard agents were in charge of instructing the corresponding proceedings.
