On July 5th, the Local Police of Tías arrested a man accused of running over a citizen at a pedestrian crossing on the Rambla Islas Canarias in Puerto del Carmen, near Calle Finland. This was reported by sources from the council to La Voz on Thursday .
The victim, a foreigner living in the municipality, was crossing a pedestrian crossing, walking her two dogs when the vehicle, a Renault Megane, ran over her.
The two dogs died in the accident and she had to be evacuated in a serious condition to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The driver of the vehicle, who was unharmed, was arrested and then released on bail, according to the same sources.
