Out of control. This is how the covid-19 coronavirus infections grow on the islands, spurred by the omicron variant and the uncontrolled situation that exists in Tenerife.

By islands, Tenerife added 1,163 cases yesterday with a total of 55,799 accumulated cases and 7,110 active cases, and Gran Canaria has 43,307 accumulated cases, 325 more than the previous day and 3,938 active.

Lanzarote adds 82 new cases, with 8,116 accumulated and 430 active; Fuerteventura has 6,086 accumulated cases, with 83 new cases and 1,148 active cases; and La Palma adds 30 new positives for which it has 1,455 accumulated and 157 assets. La Gomera registers four new positives, so it has 496 accumulated and 30 assets. And El Hierro does not add new positives, so its accumulated are 489 and it has 17 assets. A case without reference must be included in the data accumulated by islands.

The total accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 115,750 with 12,831 active, of which 57 are admitted to the ICU and 266 remain hospitalized.

The cumulative incidence at seven days in the Canary Islands stands at 352.95 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at fourteen days, at 483.51 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

To date, a total of 2,550,611 diagnostic tests have been performed on the islands.

The Ministry of Health published the data yesterday on the Grafcan portal are provisional and are pending validation by the Public Health teams.
