Torres warns Morocco: "If you touch a millimeter of the Canarian waters you will face the central and regional government"

The president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, reiterated on Tuesday “do not touch” Canarian waters and made it clear that if Morocco tries to delimit its supposed waters within the marine space that Spain and the Canary Islands consider their own, even if it is “one millimeter”, it will be reported to central and regional government, as it has already shown disregard after the first news about the Alawi's kingdom's intentions were known.

Torres held a conversation Tuesday in Madrid with the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arancha González Laya, who confirmed "the same position of a clear defence already issued by the previous team in the same Ministry." The head of the regional Executive also advanced this to Thursday, at the session of the Governing Council, an institutional resolution will be approved in defence of the Canarian waters.
