The women are 16 and 21 years old, working on Avenida Los Cocederos in Costa Teguise
The investigation started on March 2nd when two women of Romanian nationality with initials EIC and RIM (16 years without police records and 21 years with similar backgrounds), were found to be acting as deaf mutes.
The Civil Guard patrol identified them at 11:30 a.m. as they were cheating the pedestrians posing as deaf and dumb. The agents seized several sheets of paper with the supposed association of deaf and also handwritten signatures with a review of money contributed by the victims, who are almost always elderly tourists
The agents found 27 euros and five pounds in bills of different value that were hidden in their clothes. The investigated were then released pending the summons to Court.
